[Note: Skincare is subjective, so effects may vary & make sure to patch test every product on your skin. I would be reviewing different products hereafter, so keep an eye on the "ProductReviews" section of the blog. You can look out for skincare products reviews in near future.]
The Derma Co 10% Niacinamide Serum retails for INR 599 for 30 ml. I bought this product to test out the hype about Niacinamide worldwide & The Derma Co was one of the first companies that I spotted in Indian market through their extensive digital marketing.

The brand claims this with the product :
Fades Acne Marks – Niacinamide is an anti-inflammatory that works to regulate the amount of acne-causing oil being produced by the glands in your skin. In addition, it regulates skin tone and helps fade the red, purple and brown marks that acne can leave on the skin. Niacinamide improves skin’s barrier, repairs past signs of damage, reduces inflammation, that results in fewer pimples. Fights Acne – Niacinamide or Vitamin B3 has been clinically proven to help visibly improve large pores and prevent acne. Daily use will result in fewer lesions and improved skin texture. Niacinamide increases ceramides within the skin, helping to retain moisture and aiding in the fight against acne. It also reduces the activity of P.acnes bacteria on the skin, thereby reducing acne. Controls Sebum Production – The serum is infused with Zinc to help regulate sebum production, diminish the severity of acne, and promote clear skin. As a result, Niacinamide is highly effective in improving the appearance of pores, fine lines, and keeping the skin’s barrier intact. It also retains moisture and regulates the activity of acne-causing bacteria, thereby reducing acne breakouts and improving skin texture. KEY INGREDIENTS Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) An active form of vitamin B3, Niacinamide actively works towards reducing acne marks & scars and gives an even skin texture. It also strengthens the skin’s barrier function that helps limit damage from free radicals & prevents aging. With its anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, Niacinamide reduces the activity of P.acnes bacteria, resulting in acne-free skin. Zinc It helps regulate sebum production, diminishes the severity of acne, and promotes clear skin. Zinc has antibacterial properties and is a moisturizing agent that controls the acne and decreases sebum secretion on the skin while improving the skin retain its humidity. WHO IS IT SUITABLE FOR?
Anyone with acne marks, scars, and uneven skin texture
Suitable for all skin types

1. Apply 2-3 drops of serum on the entire face and neck, twice a day or as recommended by the dermatologist
2. Massage gently until the serum gets absorbed
3. During the daytime, follow up with a broad-spectrum sunscreen
Now, let's quickly dive into my take on this product for my oily skin-type.
PROS:
It ever so slightly evened out my skin tone. This slight difference was seen with regular application throughout few months , which means that the product takes time to show result.
It did control excess sebum production very faintly.
It faded the acne scars very moderately.
It hydrated my skin.
It smoothed out my skin a bit & gave it a glowy-supple look.
CONS:
It neither reduced my acne, nor its severity.
It didn't reduce any inflammation.
It didn't fix the issue of skin texture significantly.
The appearance of pores & fine lines were intact.
The serum does feel a bit heavy for oily skin especially for the day time.
The product takes a long time to show minuscule results which start to reverse/fade as soon as you skip few days of using the serum.
The product has strong fragrance which may irritate sensitive skin.
Having dissected its claims, it all boils down to if I recommend it or not?
I do not recommend this product. But if you don't suffer from major acne or scarring issues & just wanna start with a Niacinamide in your skincare routine & looking for a kind of an affordable option, do give it a try. It is a very AVERAGE product tbh. Also, it would be normal to observe a slight tingling sensation after product application for beginners , but it will surely subside as the skin gets used to it within 1 week or so. I would not suggest my readers to expect some miraculous results in your acne , acne scars, pore appearance, skin texture & oiliness from this product.
