#ProductReview : Lacto Calamine Lotion

[Note: Skincare is subjective, so effects may vary & make sure to patch test every product on your skin. I would be reviewing different products hereafter, so keep an eye on the "ProductReviews" section of the blog. You can look out for skincare products reviews in near future.]

Lacto Calamine Lotion retails for INR 158 for 120ml while its 30ml trial size is availble at just INR 71. I bought this product since I was looking for a suitable moisturiser for my oily skin that won't clog my pores, break me out or feel heavy.

The brand describes the item as :
Kaolin Clay absorbs excess oil from the skin surface without removing the essential oil
Zinc Oxide helps unclog pores by preventing build-up of pimple-causing germs
Aloe Vera provides necessary additional moisture

The claims seems to be pretty straightforward , now let's dig if its worth the shot or not.

PROS:

  • It is amazingly cheap.

  • It was light weight.

  • It will prevent oiliness to reappear upto several hours.

  • It gently soothes active acne.

  • Didn't clog pores.

  • Reduced further breakouts.

  • Protected the moisture barrier.

  • Lesser blackheads & whiteheads spotted after its use.

  • Suitable for combination, oily as well as normal skin type.

CONS:

  • It didn't unclog the existing clogged pores.

  • The Green Combination skin variant worked better than the Purple Oily skin variant for my oily skin type.

Having dissected its claims, it all boils down to if I recommend it or not?

I highly HIGHLY highly recommend this product. Its like a magic in a bottle for troubled oily skin. The product does what it promises & with its handsome price tag, it is a clear winner in the market. This product is highly underrated. I was tired of trying out different moisturizer for oily skin in the market because even though they claimed to be non-oily or suitable for oily skin, within a few hours every such high-claiming moisturizer used to leave my skin feeling like a grease-ball. So, definitely try this product out, even though I liked The Green Combination skin variant more but do try the purple oily skin variant in the 30ml trial size for yourself to best judge. Anyway, your Rs.71 won't go to waste since you can use the purple variant as a spot treatment for your pimple specifically as opposed to a moisturizer.
