Finding the perfect everyday foundation is a true struggle for everyone. For that very matter, I gave Elf Foundation Palette a go in the shade Light/Medium. Was it worth the shot? Keep on reading.
Starting off with what this palette claims to deliver:
*LIGHTWEIGHT FEEL, FULL COVERAGE - This foundation palette offers four silky cream foundations to match your changing skin tones all year around. These lightweight shades blend effortlessly into your skin for a lightweight, radiant finish.
*HYDRATING FORMULA - Each shade in our foundation set is infused with enriching vitamins, shea butter, grape seed oil and more for a fresh face with every use.
*ALWAYS HAVE THE PERFECT SHADE - This foundation palette features four shades that can complement your skin tone all year around. Use individual shades or create your own by using the back of your hand to mix foundations.
*HOW TO USE - Using a foundation brush, apply and blend the product from the center of the face, outward. You can also use the palette for contouring by highlighting with the lighter shades and using the darker shades for sculpting and defining.
*VEGAN & CRUELTY-FREE - Our foundations are PETA certified cruelty free and vegan, so you can feel good about using our products.
Personally, I have an oily to combination skin type. For me, this palette was a thumbs down👎🏻 . Since it is more oily than hydrating. It seeps into the pores and separates on the skin pretty badly. It is NOT full coverage and when I tried to build it on for better coverage, it was hella cakey and looked really bad. It surely is lightweight but it if it doesn't look good then whats the point. Using it with brush creates streaks.
Now, coming to the practical aspect of HOW I MAKE IT WORK FOR ME?
Just like any other product, I try my level best to cash my coins that I have invested in the product and putting it to waste is my last to last resort.
I like to salvage this foundation by using it as a BB Cream. I do so by mixing it with my sunscreen in 1:3 ratio. I apply it with my fingers so that there are no streaky lines. And I set it with compact powder & rose water on top.
